Default First Flowers

I'm a beginner, and this flower that just sprouted in my mom's garden caught my eye.
I think maybe the dead leaf on the left side might be too distracting. What do you think?
Is there anything you would change?

First, welcome to DPS!
Very nice shots Nicks! About your question, maybe, yes, the leaf is distracting. It would be better without it. Your focus is at the right place and your DOF is good too!
Have a nice day!

Lovely focus on the flower...I agree about the leaf, I'd crop the whole thing out. Maybe increase the saturation a bit too, to emphasize the lovely color of the crocus?
welcome to dps
