Frozen leaf

This is a little different technique that I tried this time and wanted to see if the high key worked with this particular composition, I was trying for a way to show the intricate texture of the leaf, as well as the gleam off the ice it was frozen in, as the bright sun slowly started melting it away. Strictly speaking, I know this isn't true macro, but it's a close up and didn't fall neatly into another category.



Mainly I am looking for feedback on the use of the high key, as well as my cropped composition, which I chose to bring more impact to the leaf lines.

I like the composition but an unsure about the different colors/textures of the leaf with the treatment

I like the crop and the composition, however the leaf it's self looks like you tried to selectively adjust the contrast and it just doesn't work for me.
