Hello all
Here is a picture of a Crocus that I took recently.
Mainly I would like to know how I can better the technique. Tell me what you think of the background. I took another picture where the flowers were larger but I think this one is more balanced. You can see the other one in my Picasa album. I didn't edit or crop this picture as I enjoy photography more when I don't Here is the EXIF: Camera: OLYMPUS IMAGING CORP. Model: E-520 ISO: 200 Exposure: 1/2000 sec Aperture: 5.6 Focal Length: 42mm Flash Used: No Thanks |

Oh wow! I think this is wonderful just like it is. I just don't know how you could possibly have made this any better other than maybe just a hair more brightness and saturation, but that is just my "taste" ... certainly not a technical necessity... technically, this is an awesome shot. (Of course, it could be my monitor ... I need to get it calibrated.) Great work. The DOF is very good ... I can make out a tree in the background but it adds to the framing - it does not detract which (being such a strong element) is a pleasant surprise. I just love this. If you are going to crop, don't take very much and take it ONLY from the right side, but not enough to take out the tree. Just take a little off the right and I would have to say, IT IS PERFECT.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. These are some of the first flowers that bloom for us so I really enjoyed laying down in the grass to take these pictures. The flowers were about 2 1/2 inches off the ground.
Thanks |
