Ellaeran,
Not sure exactly what you're after for cc, but what does this shot do for you? The green in the bg is too distracting, though honestly I don't see anything really interesting in the branch. Ask yourself a few questions before you hit the shutter. What am I trying to get people to see? What do I want people to feel? How can I either separate this branch or make it blend in to get that feeling? Where should the lighting be coming from to enhance the mood? Is there anything distracting from what I want to say?

Well, for one, I would crop down the image so that the wood does not divide the picture in half. Aim for thirds, and the appeal of the image will increase. I would try to crop off some of the wood, and most of the grass, until the line is at the "top third".
Secondly, if you're into post-production, a high-contrast and low-saturation edit may add an element to the picture that's currently lacking. Or, doing a soft blur across the entire image may make it look celestial. Once again, it would be up to your eye. Black and white might look nice too. The wood has some great texture, and could be manipulated into a very interesting piece. Keep up the macro shots! Last edited by TwoFeetForward; 03-21-2010 at 05:30 AM.
