Like the shot, maybe look at the highlights tab in lightroom or PS to change the background a bit

Pao to view EXIF via flickr you may click on the photo and it will direct you to flickr... On the lower-left side of the page look for the link "more properties" just right below "Taken with a (camera name and model)"... click on "more properties" and it will direct you to another page... then the EXIF of the file will be shown on that page... Hope this helps...

And from flickr the EXIF of the photo is:

Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 200

Have you gone right to the heart of the question? Ever try putting the Sun directly behind, let camera sort out the exposure? If windy, use high shutter speed. The link is to a simple shot, no special lens, filter or setting, just letting the camera handle the light.

My apologies, jiminy, I completely missed your message (still learning my way around). I've heard of Paris, IL, but never been through it. I'm in Bloomington - a transplant from Louisiana and still not used the lack of trees.

Thanks for the idea about the sun directly behind the subject. I've done it with the sun filtering through trees, but it never crossed my mind in a wide open space. Your photo is stunning - thanks for sharing!
