flower and bee :D

Hi all,

I spent ages with this bee. I kept clicking away trying to get a closer and clearer shot of it until it flew towards me... I ran away screaming.

Feel free to comment, please give advice on how to get better shots.

Canon 500D (I used the kit lens it came with, i think its 18-55mm)

I'd like to know how to get a closer, clearer shot. I used manual focus because there was wind but is it better to use auto focus for shots like these?
