Hi There,
I'm doing a school project where I have to critique people's pictures, so I chose to get a double whammy out of it and actually post my critique to help others improve their photography. My critique might sound a little odd as I'm presenting it to a teacher, but here we go: Exposure: The exposure on this picture is a bit high, but it doesn’t detract from the photo much. Notice the white rings around the petals. Focus: I do like the focus here, but the main thing missing is that final flair that would bring this picture from good to great. It is kind of hard to place my finger on what that would mean, but take a look at the link I posted at the end for an example of what to aim for. Depth of Field: This looks fine overall. While there is somewhat of a science to this, it is more based upon creativity. Centered vs. Rule of Thirds: Up close on flowers seems to be a good composition, so this is great. Feeling: Overall, the feeling I get is a refreshing one, but more color is need to make it emotional. Photo Critique Forums Hope this helps, James |

Hi There,
Not a problem at all. That's what this thread is here for. If you want to learn more about photography and also be able to help others (you don't have to be a pro - I mean look at me, I'm a highschool student), then check out this website: photoSIG » How do I critique a photo? Enjoy, James |
