Hi, I'm pretty new here and REALLY new to the world of flash.
I'm looking at a Nikon SB-600 and was just wondering if the onboard flash on my Nikon D300s can act as a master to the SB-600 so as to activate it wirelessly? Or, do I need additional equipment? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just want to know what creative options will be available to me if I decide to go the SB-600 route. Thanks for any help that you might be able to give. Even any useful links would be really appreciated. Cheers, Daniel

Yes, the pop-up works as a commander. You have to flip it to commander mode in the custom settings, then it'll bring up the CLS menu where you can make adjustments.
edit: if you like fun and know how to read, check out Joe McNally's "The Hot Shoe Diaries."

Thanks Jamie, much appreciated. I had a feeling that was the case, but didn't want to fork out the $$$ and be disappointed.
btw... loving your equipment list... 70-200 f/2.8 VRII...... I'm saving hard for it. It looks awesome!
