I have both units, I use with my Nikon D80, and wanted to know the most economical way to trigger both to fire when I press the shutter button. I have a decent setup, and wanted to expand my creativitiy by using 2 flash modules, instead of one. Could I use a system like the one here, listed in this link? Those should work, but I'm pretty skeptical of items like that on ebay. They're cheap but you usually get what you pay for. Check out the strobist.com group on Flickr: Flickr: Strobist.com, they have several discussions of radio triggers that are a little more expensive, but probably more reliable. Cactus and Yongnuo are probably the most popular brand of cheap radio triggers.

I went with some cheap Cactus triggers and I'm sorry I did. They failed completely after a couple of months. Now I've gone to something even cheaper, but more reliable -- optical slaves.
I got them at flashzebra. These are the ones made for Nikon speedlights: FlashZebra.com: Optical Slave — Extended Range Version — with Male PC Connector — Sonia Brand (Item #0100) They won't do much for you if you plan to use them outside in the daylight. But I rarely use flash outside, so they're great for me. And they don't need batteries! |
