Default Indoor Lighting..DIY reflectors HELP :)

I am shooting a session with my neice and nephew baking cookies in their kitchen. Lighting is pretty yellow and dark in there. There is a window that brings in great natural light, but forcast for tomorrow is calling for clouds and rain all day. I want to avoid using flash and will work on the camera settings once I get there and adjust to the lighting. I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 (I know not anything fancy, but I'm back into this seriously after a few years hiatus!) I do have lens filters..(high def. and UV). Are there any DIY reflectors anyone can suggest that can help with the lighting issues I will come across? I've seen the suggestion on here for using white poster board or white sheets..but for indoors I don't know if that is appropriate?
Just need suggestion on something that will help bounce/reflect light back onto them naturally without the use of flash?

Thanks a bunch!

I'm no expert, but I would probably try to go with one of two options:

1 - If you can get your hands on some sort of flash gun, they're far superior to the cameras built-in flash (which just tends to overpower and wash everything out)

2 - Get some extra lamps in the kitchen there with you

I've heard of people also using tinfoil on boards or the like to get some light reflection. Good luck!

Go to the local hobby supply store and get yourself some large sheets of white foam board, it works great.

Good suggestions above.

The white foam board will work as well as some aluminum foil wrapped over some cardboard or something similar. The aluminum foil (silver reflector) will reflect more light, but the light will be fairly hard. The white foam board (white reflector) will reflect less light, but the light will be softer. You'll have to decide what trade-off you want to deal with.

And I agree with Roger. See if you can get some more lights in there and position them so they will provide more light but won't be visible in the shots.
