Thanks for the replies. I just hope someone if this community has had some experience using LED and can help me also.

And how about CFL lights?

I am planning to create some light kit on my own that I can carry around easily and do not have to invest much.
I use cfl's a lot. I haven't saved up enough cash to get proper "gear" as of yet, but the little clamp lights with the 100W replacement seem to do the trick for me. The color corrected ones are still a little cool, but I haven't had much issue with them. They stay cool enough that I have even "gelled" them with colored tissue paper to correct for some of that. Of course most of the stuff I have done with them have been converted to black and white, so it's not really an issue.
They are still going to be a little limited, and your shutter speed will be longer than desirable, and you may get out of your comfort zone with ISO, but for a net cost of about $20.00, you can spend hours learning with them. Especially since it's a constant source, you can see how light placement affects your subject. So it's not all negative going this route, especially if you're not sure you want to get in to OCL.

the OP should look at the 240 or 312+ solutions that have a dimmer and also offer the ability to change temperature.
