They are the same strobes he is selling in this kit:
2 STUDIO FLASH STROBE 360W + UMBRELLA + LIGHT STAND+BAG | eBay

The only problem I have with them is they do not have an off switch for the optical slave, so I put a little piece of electrical tape over them, so that other flashes are not setting them off.

At 10', they provide f10 at ISO100 on max power
Thank you.

So just shy of $800 in lighting
Ty for sharing. Wow, I hope I can have those equipments and the price looks convincing. Very unfortunately, in my country, you can hardly find those good things at such price, and usually a few times double up.

wow, the strobes are so cheap.. how about the GN compared to flashgun? and their flexibility to bring anyway?

Ave. flash bulb life: over 8000 flashing. Any replacing bulb to purchasse?

so Scott listed the spec "f10 ant 10' iso 100.
This is all you need to know to determine Guide Number. The GN =100 [10x10]
The canon 580ex GN =190; the Nikon sb900 has a GN of 157.
Now the tricky thing about GN ratings on flashes with zoom heads is that need to be zoomed the same. And you need to consider the degree of coverage...

Ya from my understanding the SB900 is much less powerful than the SB800.

So #1 is brightest.

1. SB800
2. Canon 580EXII
3. SB900
4. SB600

From my understanding the SB24 SB28 flashes are between the SB900 and SB800. I may be wrong but my SB800 is hell bright.

Not sure if this counts as true "strobist", but I scored an SB28 last Friday, so it's all manual for me. No ttl. I have no stands, triggers, or other modifiers at the moment, so I've been mainly focussing on flash on camera. I have been reading the heck out of Neil VanNeikerk and various bounce techniques. This was one of my first test shots ever with flash.

Meatloaf by RLucas2009, on Flickr

Camera Nikon D40
Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/8.0
Focal Length 155 mm
ISO Speed 400
Exposure Bias +1/3 EV
--------------------------------
"strobist" a la NeilvN.
On camera mounted SB28
Forward bounced and flagged with "black foamie thing" off of wall camera left.
1/4 power.

Pretty much SOOC, except for some contrast and clarity adjustments in LR3.
I think I am gonna get hooked! lol!

Headshot/1/2 body for a grad. One AB400 in large softbox, no reflector. AB positioned at about 7:30 camera left.
