Hello All, My first post here. I have just done a pre wedding shoot in a hotel room with a Nikon DSLR and SB900. The "landscape" shots are good with no shadows but the "portrait" shots have noticeable shadow on the opposite side of the camera, even with the flash pointed at the ceiling. I didn't use the diffusor, maybe that would have helped. Maybe I need to have the flash off the camera, but I was shooting all over the room with the bride, bridesmaid and flower girls. I would welcome any suggestions, Thanks

No, don't think the diffuser would've helped much. You might want to try reading this Planet Neil entry on choosing your bounce direction. You may also need to flag or gobo the light so that only the bounced light hits your subject.
