Default Sports Illustrated style photo shoot today on the beach at sunset

Hello,

I just thought I would post and see if there is already some good threads on this topic. I'm looking for lighting suggestions, tips, ideas. Should I use a gold reflector, fill flash? What would be the correct set for these? Etc.

Any help is appreciated. My shoot it tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks,
Iggy

What kind of shots are you going for? Something in the glamour line or perhaps some humble, honest portraiture? There are plenty of things a photographer could be aiming for with a lady on a beach!

Also, what are you expecting from the weather and natural lighting? Hot sun just after noon? Dusk and a glorious sunset? Drizzle and mist?

A bit more information will help people make useful suggestions.

Thanks,

Wulf

Sorry. I'm going for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition type shots. They need to be sexy and they will be going on a website. It should be clear and sunny with a hot sun. She will be in a bathing suit

In that case, a gold reflector might be an asset - you can shoot her with well-lit parts of the beach behind but balance and warm the light on your model with it.

Have you done anything like this before? What about the model?

definatley a large gold reflector, and you wil NEED an assistant.
preferably a strobe or two especially if its a bright day. sunset shouldnt be particularly challenging.

as Wulf said.. backlight her with the gold reflector.

make sure you dont let the model get cold.. be considerate.
