I have three still life lighting assignments for my studio photography class. We will be using a Hasselblad and full studio lighting options.
First assigment is with one softbox light and one fill card. Second assignment is with two lights. Third assignment is anything we choose. I've decided on a series of antique still lifes representing tools of a trade. One is a collection of antique tools, including wooden planes; ornate but well-worn metal tools; rusted nails and a rugged tool box. Second shot is of old cookbooks, utensils, and canisters. And the third is of old linens, thread bobbins and sewing needles. Does anyone have suggestions as to which lighting set up would work best for which setting? Also, do you have a suggestion for the third lighting setup - anything we choose? |

That's really open ended there could be many combinations. What do you want your image to look like? What background will you use? How are you going to arrange the items? Do you want diffuse or hard light? Will you be using colored gels?
