Default Natural Lighting

Hello

i have only had a dslr for a few months now, and all of my photos seem to have the same "look" about them. i was wondering if there was any techniques or changing of the settings that could warm up my photos.

Hello!

It would be interesting if you put some of your photos that look "the same". If you want a warmer light you can:
-change the white balance toward red
-take photo indoor as usually interior lighting is made by tungsten light bulb (the tradition
type of light bulb) and give a warmer light. Important! Fluorescent bulb give another type of
color cast
-take photo in the morning and afternoon when the sun is lower (because of sunset and
sunrise) and the light warmer

Hope it helps!

White balance is a bit off: it could be warmer.

Are you shooting RAW or JPG?

Try using cloudy white balance for outdoor shots between 10am and 4pm

They both look fine to me. Maybe a little to much on the red side. It could be this monitor though. Ken, what exactly did you do? I am not knocking your skill, but the only difference I could see was in the second image. The clouds look posterized.
Thanks. Luke

More than just a white balance adjustment, thats for sure. I'd say a contrast change and some sharpening.

Side by side-see difference now? I used an 85c photo filter at 25% to warm image up.Also a Defog, and a slight contrast, regards, ken
