I am having trouble with lighting on my camera. I am a beginner.
My camera is a Canon Digital Rebel EOS Lens 18-55 mm. Everytime I take a picture I always set it on AV Mode then when I take the picture It doesn't come out the way I want it to I have tons of lights on. Is it that I am not setting the right dial mode? I am not doing something right? Could it be the lighting? Now when I use flash or use the green mode which is free style I can use that outside and it works well. Sometimes when I use the AV mode when I am outside I am always having to set it to black and white for the picture to turn out the way I want it too. I would appreciate the help I am a beginner photographer.

Even with all the new electronic gadgetry built in, every serious phtographer should carry a hand held meter in their bag. What looks like enough light to the eye may not be for the camera. On auto the camera is extending the exposure time.
