I recieved my Cactus 4 yesterday but I don't think I'm going to use them. I ended up buying two 430EX II to use with my 580EX II and just don't see why I would need to hold on to them. Would someone here be interested in the Trigger and reciever set?

When outdoors, do you run into line of sight issues with just the flashes?

I was hopping to get by with the 580 and one 430 and use the the v4 to remote fire them but the 430's and the 580 work so well together, I just broke down and got another 430. The truth is... I'm a newbe and have not learned to manually set the flashes yet so the ettl is helping me out and I hate to loose that feature.

No you can turn off the master and let it just fire your slaves. Another cool feature is you can have one 430 in group A or B and another 430 in Group C. You can then turn down or up the flash ratio so Group C fires more or less light. All of this is controlled by the Camera menu. Cool.

Actually, the coolest part with using an eTTL setup is that you can choose between using groups and ratios, or you can shoot in Manual and set the individual power levels on the remote flashes from the back of the master flash (or camera menu, if you have camera that lets you do that). No need to run around from flash to flash to adjust power levels. AND you have high speed synch. And rear curtain synch. And stroboscopic mode (shocked the hell out of me to realize that using a 580EX as a master meant I could also shoot my 430EX in stroboscopic mode).
Aside from the pricetag, eTTL rocks. I can see why RadioPoppers were created, because giving up all the eTTL features when you move to radio triggers is a PITA.
