Hello there,

I am fairly new to the world to DSLRs and flash units, but reading Darren's post just then, I came up with an even simpler bouncer that those already simple ones.
This can be made in literally 2 mins at virtually no cost at all.

You need on A4 sheet of paper, a ruler, a pen and a bit of sticky tape or a rubber band (might even be able to use a staple).

Put your flash unit on the paper at roughly one third of the depth, and use ruler and pen to draw a line from each top corner to the corresponding corner of the flash.

Then draw a line on each side of the flash, this is where you'll cut the paper (using the ruler means no need for scissors)

After that just fold and sicky tape/staple/attach together.

And voila! A cheap, easy to make, disposable bouncer!

And coming up a few examples

Here are some results :

Flashed bounced off ceiling/wall:

Using paper bouncer :

I happened to have some yellow paper in my scrap paper pile so I decided to have a try ( in fact I came up with the idea using yellow paper in less than 5 mins)

So there you are a new world of cheap filters as well as bouncers ( Ok not the most convincing filters/bouncers, but I can't imagine an easier to make and more practical if you suddenly realise you are missing a bouncer whilst on a shoot)

Enjoy and improve !

Yann
