Default Indoor Lighting/Exposure

I am relatively new to photography and will be photographing a friend's small wedding in January. I am shooting with a Nikon D80 and will be purchasing a Nikon sb800 soon. I am looking for some help with starting points for exposure and flash settings for indoor shots as well as trying to get some nice silhouettes, etc.

Just an FYI, if this is at a church please verfiy that you are able to use a flash. Some churches don't allow them. I found out the hard way when I DIDN'T ask. If they don't I suggest you go a day / week ahead of time and take some test shots to find the best settings possible. Just trying to help you out before you get in a sticky situation.

@kseg: I don't Understand what you're trying to say.
I think it's very important to understand the basics of flash and what you can do with it. It will help you a lot for each situation. If for example parts of the pictures are too dark, your basic understanding of how flash works will help you to clarify why.
