The kits are very resonably priced IMO and offer everything I could want in a strobe. The only downside to the lights I have (if I had to come up with one) is the modelling light is only 60 watts. They do have higher end lights with brighter modelling lamps. Another thing is that the modelling lamp brightness does not automatically change porportionally with the strobe lamps but are still fully adjustable in their own right.

An example, their 150W strobe sells for $299 (can) alone. For double that you would get 2 lights, 2 stands, 2 umbrellas (reflective/shoot through), barndoor, snoot, jells and grid for both the barndoor and snoot, and a case.
