Default Gels and Canon Speedlights

Santa brought me a packet of Rogue Gels and I've been playing with them. I have the book "Hot Shoe Diaries" and he talks a bit about gels and I've found a few sites with examples of which white balance and which gels got which result, but they happened to use Nikon equipment. I'm a Canon girl so while I understood most of it, made some assumptions about lingo, I thought I would look on here for a tutorial or a link to something similar. In a perfect world, my tutorial will be someone using Canon equipment and would show me photos which tell me what the lighting source was, where the white balance was set, and which gel (Full CTO, or maybe Green + 1/4 CTO, etc).

Anyone know of such a site or source? I have a lot of playing to do but I'd love to read for a while to get a general sense of what's going on. Thank you!

the concepts and processes are exactly the same on either system. What lingo tripped you up?

Check out the book Speedliter's Handbook by Syl Arena. It's a great resource for Canon Speedliters.
