Hey, I've been subscribed to DPS' rss for a while now and am kind of excited to get involved in the forum... to start things off I have a weird question and favour to ask of anyone who's familiar with speedring sizes. I bought some real cheap softboxes off amazon and (surprise surprise) I got what I paid for. The ball-joints are too weak to hold the heads up, and all the metal used is of such poor quality that I'm stripping everything that can be stripped by trying to get them tight enough to stay put. I arranged for a refund, but the hassle and cost of returning them is prohibitive. The thing is, I think the softboxes themselves are actually pretty decent, just not any of the hardware.
Can anyone check the product out to see if I could use it for a studio strobe compatible with a universal speed ring? Thanks |
