Default Flash Compatibility Question

I'm picking up a Nikon D300s in a couple of days, and I have a question about the compatibility of flashes. I plan on getting an SB700 (or an SB600 if I spend too much on lenses) to use as my primary flash, but I also have a Metz 58 AF-1 that I use with my Leicas. because of the way that the contact points are set up, I know that I won't be able to use the Metz on the D300s hot shoe, but would it be possible for me to use it as a slave flash?

Sure you can use the Metz 58 AF-1 as OCF. I do not believe it has a built in optical slave so you'll need a way to trigger it.

Think the Leica version should be CLS/eTTL-slave capable, according to this.
