I need to take some photos of small craft items to sell online. The camera is a Nikon D70. Using the camera flash takes a nice photo except for the shadows. Is it possible to set up several incandescent lights to eliminate the shadows and not end up with a light orange background? I've tried fooling with the white balance to no avail. (I'm obviously a rank amateur).
Thanks for any guidance. Skip Skip7083@comcast.net |

If you're mixing lighting (flash and incandescent), you'll need to alter the color of one of the lights so they better blend. This is often done using a gel attached to the flash to give it that incandescent tone, which can then be white balance corrected for.
As you get more into lighting, you might want to check out the Strobist website. Here's an article about color correcting flash. Strobist: Lighting 101: Using Gels to Correct Light |
