Default One Light Set-Up

Here's a image I did a couple weeks ago as part of a portfolio shoot update. All of the lighting on these
images was done with one Canon 580EXII Speedlite off camera in a small soft box.


Technical Stuff:
Canon 5D Mark II
Lens: Canon 85 mm 1/100 sec @ f2, ISO 100
Lighting: 580 EX II in ETTL mode
Camera Exp Comp: -2/3rd

Where's the softbox? This almost looks like natural light with some judicious editing.

Great job Mike!!! Is the light camer left on this or is that the sun and you used the speed light for fill? Very good job!


FYI: We have a thread for off camera strobist and lighting shots and setups here.. Strobist: Show us how you took it?

The light is slightly too camera right.

It was shot at F2, so there really isn't a lot of DOF.
