Actually, if you're going to get into the cheap radio triggers, you probably want to look at the Cactus V5s. And also into all-manual flashes like the LumoPro LP160 ($160 at mpex.com) or Yongnuo YN-560 ($60 on Amazon) as additional lights. Considerably less dough than getting a TTL-capable set up.
The Cowboy Studio triggers are 433 MHz triggers, like the old Cactus V2s. Reliability and range won't be as nice as with the 2.4GHz triggers, like Cybersyncs, Cactus V5s, or Yongnuo RF-602s and RF-603s. I have RF-602s, and I can get 700 ft./200m range out of 'em and have never have a misfire. The Cactus V5s are probably the best of this year's crop of cheap radio triggers. While they cost roughly twice the price of the Cowboy Studios triggers, they are 2.4GHz, they are transceiver units, with 16 channels, pass-through hotshoes, and they run off AAAs. Compare that to 433 MHz, a 23A battery in the transmitter, only 4 channels, and separate Tx/Rx units for the Cowboy Studio triggers.

I also use the CowboyStudio triggers and have never had a misfire with them. They have been with me for over a year and they work flawless. I have actually added receivers so that I can use multiple flashes at the same time. They work great!
