Default Shooting a super reflective product shot

I've heard that shooting a flute is like trying to shoot a curved mirror. I am trying to emulate this photo: Flute Models | Miyazawa Flutes | Miyazawa.com
My approach is to encase the flute in a bristol board box without a top. In this scenario I would hang a 5 foot by three foot diffusion panel over the box and hang a light over the diffusion panel. The camera would be positioned between the box and the diffusion panel and tilt down to the flute.

My big question: do you think I would see a bunch of reflections in the flute with this setup?

Are you trying to emulate that shot, or just get a shot of a flute? Because that isn't how the original image that you linked to did it. You can clearly see white on the top and bottom and a black strip down the middle. This is created by having two lights, larger than the flute, on each side. Then shooting down through the middle of them. The black strip is the space between the two softboxes that the photog shot through.

Thank you for your insight! I am trying to emulate the shot linked above. The two soft boxes makes sense. Could a camera tripod fit between the two soft boxes, and do you think you would see the camera and tripod reflection from above too?

I would put the camera above the softboxes and shoot down between them. The lens will reflect in a small area somewhere on the flute, but you can easily clone that out. I probably wouldn't use a tripod unless you have some sort of boom/tripod combination. A tripod would probably not fit between them. They will have to be close together (maybe 6in apart)

here's a diagram of what you might want to try first
