Default Confused AGAIN>>>

Hi! I was doing my research on the Cowboy NPT-04 wireless flash trigger rec. I was pointed inthis direction for some Cowboy Studio monolights that were given to me. But when reading over the details it keeps talking about ext flash hook up. Will this actually work on my lights? I have no pc plug on the T1i so i was told to go this route? I was lookign at the picture and wasn't sure how i would attach anything to the lights themselves. CAn you explain this if it is the correct item i need to make these lights trigger? Thank you Thank you Thank you.. I feel so silly posting sometimes.. Gotta learn some how though!

ok so lets take a look at the triggers...

The one on the right goes on your camera. The one on the left you mount your flash on...
If you look at the sides of the units you see where the pc cable goes. A PC cable goes from the receiver to the Cowboy light.

You would need one receiver for each light or you would need to daisy chain them together with pc cords.

I can't see the pics as i'm at work.. But i could tell which one goes on the camera but wasn't sure how to connect to the lights. But you mentioned mounting the flash on the other, maybe thats where i'm getting confused. I don't have another flash. Just the two lights. well i do but i wasn't goign to work them all together. Is that the only way to trigger the lights? Thanks for trying to explain this ..

it's all good. One end of the PC cord will plug into the light and the other will plug into the the side of the reciever - in the sync port that you could see if you could see the images

I got the image from the cowboy site...

on this page it is the 4th thumbnail...

The transmitter goes on the camera hotshoe, so you don't need a PC port on the T1i.

You take the PC-to-1/4" mono jack cable that came with the lights, and connect the PC end of the cord to PC sync port on the side of the receiver, and the jack goes into the SYNC port on the back of the strobe.

You're welcome. Two more links that might be helpful:

Strobist: A Walk Around the Monobloc, Pt. 2

One more thing, looking on the cowboystudio website at the so-called manual for one of their monolights (as a professional technical writer, I have to do this: spit!), from the image of the back of the 110V light, I can't tell if the sync port is a 1/4" or 1/8" jack and it's not in the specs. If it turns out that the 1/4" jack is too big, don't worry--you can just pick up a 1/4" -> 1/8" adapter at Radio Shack for a few bucks. Stereo or mono probably won't make a huge difference, but if they have mono go for that one. These are the same connectors that audio equipment uses. This is why some radio triggers use 1/8" jacks instead of PC connectors: it's a simpler, hardier connection and you can pick up cables on the cheap from any electronics store.
