Lightbulb What's the best light bulbs for in my home?

Right now our house has a combination of light bulbs through out and most are those energy efficient bulbs. We take a lot of video and pictures using both a 60D and iPhones for blogs. The lighting is just very orange and gross. Depending on the time of day, we also have some natural lighting coming in the windows. What's the best type of bulb if you could choose anything?

I am starting to take a liking to cfl bulbs. Especially the color corrected variety. They seem to mix fairly well with natural light as well.

We have mostly CFL right now but don't like them. Do you have any suggestions on brand or model? Will the box say "Color Corrected" on it?

I have been using the Ott brand. They do say color corrected on the box somewhere. The ones we have are supposed to be 5500k, which resembles sunlight. To the naked eye, they are the closest I have found to incandescent bulbs. They are a little cooler in images though.

I only have CFLs in my house and I HATE the "warm white" ones. Those are the ones that give off a yellowy color and I can't stand them. Now I only buy the ones marked Daylight, they are the ones that are crisp bright white.... which is what I prefer.

We've been using the Bright Effects bulbs from Lowe's and liking them. They're pretty much instant-on with very little warm up time to full intensity and crisp white as opposed to the sickly yellow "soft white" of other bulbs. I think they have three varieties, soft (2700K), natural (about 4000K), and daylight (6500k). The daylights look too blue, the softs are too yellow, but the naturals are pretty close to crisp white.

IABoomer. I'm liking your answer so far. Probably because I'm in Iowa too

I agree on the warm orangish lights. That's what I'm having trouble with. I could color correct but sometimes I either don't have time trying to catch kids or I'm using my iPhone and it doesn't have that feature. I've been testing different bulbs over the years but never pushed hard to make a decision so I have all sorts through the house. Sounds like I may go with the 4000K Bright Effects. I like instant on too. I have a few that are way too slow. Ok, so how about a traditional bulb? I have a room that has a dimmer switch which won't work with CFLs.

Here's the Bright Effects. I can only find 3500K but maybe all the info isn't listed online. This will still be better that what I've got now.
