Default New pocketwizard Mini TT1 & Flex TT5 settings

just picked up a TT1 and TT5 for my Canon 5D2 and speedlite 580EX II. So I'm wondering, is there any specific settings I should change in these 2 pieces using the configuration software, or are you guys running them with the default settings. Again, I'm only using the SL580EX II and a 270EX, no other type of lighting at this point.

Thanks
R.

so far so good. Looking forward to using them in a shoot or more practical setting.

Thanks

I run mine under the default settings, though I'm only triggering a single 580EXII if you have slaves, there may be some other configurable settings that you need to set for delayed firing, slave triggering etc...I'd check the camera's manual and the documentation for the PW's for details.

I'd select different channels minimally. With most photogs sticking with the defaults, you might find yourself triggering someone else's lights (or worse, them triggering yours). Unlike any other PocketWizard I've ever seen, these puppies only have two channel settings to chose from unless you can quickly reprogram your choices.

i'm not sure about that. I've connected the PW to my computer and setup different channels for both A&B groups and I think I have either 16 or 32 channels to choose from if I remember right. But you're right, its not to simple to do after the fact. PW even admits the issue.

What part aren't you sure about? It looks like you are in agreement, for the most part

The 2 channel part. They have 2 channels but each channel can be programmed to 1-16, they are referred to as the Classic or Legacy channels, they are the most basic channels. Then 17 through 32 were introduced with the PocketWizard MAX. They are also called
Quad-Triggering channels or MultiMAX channels.

The Plus II only use channels 1-4.

I think we were saying the same thing different ways. LOL!!
