Default Photoshoot Lighting

Hey all!

Okay, so I have a shoot coming up and I want to get a little creative. I was recently at a studio for a photoshoot with friends. He's a nikon shoot who was using a master flash and another flash set up to a stand next to the back drop. I want to rig the same thing. I shoot a canon 7d. I have the 580ex ii. I'm going to rent additional lighting but I want to do it as cheap as possible. If i rent another flash what do i need to make it fire? I have one set of radio triggers...the one that connects to the camera, the other that connects to the flash. What do i need to rent from adorama to make this set up work?

If you have a 7D and a 580 EXii, you can do a similar thing to the Nikon CLS system you saw your friends do. The 7D has the master option built in (the first from Canon) and the 580 can be both a master and slave.

Just set the 580 on a stand with a modifier, and have at it

if you rent a flash (best with a softbox) it may fire automatically off your 580EX. Our setup is using our sb800 (wired direct) through a small softbox..that in turn fires our AB800 wirelessly with it's built in sensor.
