Default Quantaray QB-350A Thyristor Bounce Flash for Canon 500D/T1i?

I'm bit confused about its voltage - ie, 300V. Is anyone using it with Canon 500D/Rebel T1i?
Please help. Thanks.

You will fry your camera if its 300v!!! You normally want them below 6v.. depending on the camera model some support up to 250v but I would not go above 6v. I know a few people have asked canon and canon said do not go above 6v even if the camera may theoretically support up to 250v. If you go above 6v and fry your camera canon will not fix it for you.

Here is a volt chart your flash shows as not safe for on camera..

Uh... Chuck Westfall (official Canon spokesperson) has confirmed the limit is 250V, except on the first-generation dSLRs, so unless you have a 10D, D30, D60 (yes, Canon made a D60, not to be confused with Nikon's D60 or the 60D), or the original dRebel (the 300D), the 6V limit doesn't apply to your camera. They fixed this one pretty fast, but the rumor still persists.

Ya I have seen it where canon has said we support up to 250v and I knew that was the office stance but they had a warning about being careful in the upper ranges. I have triggers at 25v on my old canon 350d. Safe-Sync is the best bet.

Oh, granted--anything with high voltages can get scary, and since we're talking about a pulse signal, if something is measured at 250V, I'd be wary of it, too, as there are spikes and then there are spikes (all that old oscilloscope and electronics lab experience in college comes back to haunt me). But I think the 6V thing is also a little nuts if you keep to it too strictly, given how much higher the actual limit is.

I worry more about frying my RF-602s than I do about frying my camera. My RF-602s are known to be limited at around 10V...
