So I have a canon 270ex flash and am regretting this purchase. Don't get me wrong it's better than the built in flash, but i'm afraid that's all it really is. a glorified built in flash. I don't have a ton of money to spend, so i was looking at the vivitar DF-383.
However, i've noticed that it has the phrase "TTL" in the title, whereas my canon T2i has an "E-TTL II" setting. Are these compatible? if i buy the flash, will i not be able to use TTL or ETTL II or whatever it's called? will it only work on manual? When shopping around for the canon version of this flash, it lists the T2i under compatible cameras, but i'm skeptical if it is FULLY compatible and i would get all of the functionality. If anyone has any knowhow on the subject, it would be greatly appreciated. i'm looking to pair these two with an RF602 wireless flash trigger. so if that's a bad idea or if you have a suggestion for a better (still cheap!) flash or flash trigger, send your suggestions my way! Also, i'm not too savy on flash brands and which ones i should take a look at. So if you want to just make a quick list of great flash brands so i could look up their current lineup and read reviews of them all, that would be great. Thank you so much, Alex |
