Hello.
I am photographing an event in the Crypt at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London. The venue is underground and therefore has no windows, and what appears to be very little light from a few spotlights. There is a photo here of the room. I really want to use my Canon 430ex ii flash, but I have read that bounce flash off dark surfaces creates bad colour cast. Is there a way to get around this, is my question? |

You'll get a color cast. Whether it's good or bad is a matter of taste. Given that it's brick, the cast you're going to get is likely to be warm, which may not be a bad thing (you won't have to gel your flash). I'd recommend reading this article on neilvn.com.

Why not just bounce it off a white piece of paper that you hand hold above the camera?
