Default Sony/Minolta wireless flash

I've recently purchase a Sony HVL-F42AM flash and learned about the Sony/Minolta wireless flash system.

It's quite interesting because the command of the slave flahses is made by the on-camera flash.

Anyhow, the systems itself is not well documented, so I was wondering if any of you had tips or advice to share about it.

I've used that flash in wireless mode together with an old Minolta Auto132X flash (wired).

Any help is appreciated.

It seems that there aren't many photographers using Sony gear.

I've been practicing with my HVL-48 flash in wireless mode, and sometimes I get a secondary shadow from my in-camera flash.

Any tips on how to avoid it?

Thanks!

Lower the power on the pop-up?

You may want to ask questions in in the Flickr Strobist group discussion threads, or the Flickr Alpha Strobist group, or look for a more Sony/Alpha-specific board like this one:

Lighting, Flashes, Strobes and Studio Gear

I'll try that.

Thanks Inkista!
