Default Anyway to Make a DIY portrait studio?

Hey i have a photo shoot, a maternity one to be exact, at someone's home this up coming weekend, are there any suggestions in terms of lighting? It will be around the early afternoon, a little after 12pm....any suggestions are much appreciated.

What do you have to work with?

I did a shoot just the other day with 2 flashes and some sheets that look amazing. One flash behind the sheet, overexposing it to white. The edges were cleaned up to make some gray areas white again. Front light was through a white umbrella softbox. Or, taken on black sheet with a flash slightly behind the subject for rim lighting.

OMG that last one just cracked me up!

To the OP: If you don't have any lighting, just use natural window light with a reflector. If you don't have a reflector, pick up a piece of white foamboard from a craft store, works great in a pinch.

Oh man those are too cute!!I love the sticky note one. One thing I have to say I Speak In Math that you are a really clever guy cos I know in your "real job" you are a mathematician right? You make everything sound so complicated to my pea like brain at least.

Ps This'll make you laugh I had the dog licking the belly pic up and my husband took a quick glance and thought he was licking someones boob

i speak in math: Love the photos!

Victoria: I typically do newborn and baby sessions in the home. I have a black sheet and a white sheet that I hang over a door wherever I can find good natural lighting. I carry a bag of clamps to help with the backdrops. I work mostly with natural lighting but I'll be experimenting with my Speedlite tonight for a maternity shoot as well!
I also have lots of wraps, blankets and and fabrics that I've collected over the years that I can lay out wherever we are. My only issue with the fabrics and sheets is that they get so wrinkly!
