The YN flashes use a low trigger voltage so are compatible with almost all wireless trigger systems. I would recommend against them because of their very low output. If you don't need the battery powered strobes, then you may be better off with one of the 120V Cowboy Studio sets. If you want to use speedlights, I recommend looking for some used SB flashes. I have an old pair of SB-21's and a new pair of YN flashes. The SBs are MUCH more powerful than the YNs and cycle in about half the time. They are ideal for off-camera lighing since they are a bit more compact than most other flashes and are very easy to work with in manual mode.
