Default Lightspheres & Domes

I finally bought all the different domes for the Lightsphere. I have the collapsible. I had been hesitant because I hadn't been able to find any examples off all of them on a single subject to truly see the difference.

So if anyone wants to see the difference I took a set of photos with two difference subjects and posted them on my blog.

I'd also like to hear from others things they have done to get the best results in various lighting situations or what else they find works better.

Too bad there is such a difference in the exposure on the example images. It makes it impossible to determine the quality of the light and the effect of the light modifier.

Always difficult to do a good comparison, but I think it showed some information on how hard/soft the light was with different setups.

I have used the amber dome (I think) once or twice, and I think it produced some good pictures if you let the white balance turn the background a little blue. But it looks a bit silly on the camera.

How do you mean? I made no adjustments on the camera between the shots.

You made no adjustments in order to show what difference the different modifiers made to "base settings". But that 's not what "should" happen. The exposures should all be correct (instead of hot/under) and the difference would be in the results and ISO etc. required to get the proper exposure.

You can't properly judge the value of a modifier if you don't have a proper exposure to evaluate.
