Exclamation Outdoor band shoot tomorrow, any advice?

Hey I have an upcoming band shoot outside tomorrow and I watched a few videos, seen a few photos and I don't know if my current equipment will suffice? It seems that even on a normal sunny day people need lighting equipment (strobes, generators, battery packs, etc) and all I have is a SB600 speedlight. I looked at the weather forecast and it's going to be bright and sunny all day tomorrow.

I use a D300 and i have a 35/2, 50/1.4, 50 lensbaby, 85/1.4, 70-200/2.8 and the sb600 flash. Most of my photography now is either in a studio where the lighting equipment is provided or using natural light. I guess my fear is that they won't turn out as great as I imagine them to be?

Is there any advice you can give? Thanks!

Oh my website is Digitalstrike Studios take a look if you like!

You will need to go for more of a "natural lighting" look....use the flashes primarily for fill.
To get dramatic effects from flash, especially a single SB600 and D300 built in, you need to be close or it needs to be lower light situations...Or you need more powerful flashes.

I've shot a few all day out door music events. The stage was always covered, so I pretty much used flash all the time. I would use it as fill during the day, and had to blast it straight on at night. It's not the best lighting, but I've never had any complaints.

If you have great stage lighting you can get some cool shots using just the stage lights too. I was never that fortunate.

I used a D300 17-55 f/2.8, and a D80 80-200 f/2.8, I only have one SB600, so I'd switch it between cameras.

I don't think I'll be taking photos of them performing, I think it's photos of the band members. The weather says sunny tomorrow, and I'll probably go with what sk66 said, use the flash as fill light. I'm just wondering are there places I can look to see examples or do I just pull out CD inserts?
