Hello,
I am new to product photography (and lighting) and I am trying to get a handle of what is needed to achieve a great result. Right now I have a clamp lamp and a diffuser/reflector with stand that I use rigged in some sort of fashio based of what product I am trying to photograph. (some examples on my Flicker page in the sig). Looking for something that will not cost me an arm and a leg considering I am not making any money out of it (but considering the idea of) but at the same time that will serve it purose. Also some flexibility (like portraits in the future) of the setup will be a plus. I looked at light kits with soft boxes, light boxes, photog tables and all sort of things, and I am getting more and more confused by the minute. Any hint, help, suggestions and directions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking and for your time. Cris.

Thanks Samanax....very interesting read indeed. I just picked up a Interfit EX150 MKII kit yesterday afternoon off of craigslist, unfortunately didn't had enough time to test it thoroughly, just a couple shots in the living room with one light (space issues) first with the umbrella then with the softbox....excellent results. Will post some as soon as I get a chance to work with it a little bit more.
