Wink Opteka EF-600 DG Issue with Canon 50D

I bought this same flash a year ago. It worked fine with my Canon Rebel 300D. Than upgraded to a CANON 450D XSI, also worked fine (Except for some Un-Fired pics, but very few percentage). The outcome of this unit is not bad at all, you may get good results.

The main issue i faced with this unit is with my new CANON EOS 50D. It seems that it's NOT compatible with this model. I sent my 50D to Canon for repair, they tested it with no problems shown on the flash. Their reply was that it's a compatibility issue because the 50D uses a different technology than the XSI & older models...I hope this reply is clear & good to make your decision.
Cheers.
NAZ.

Wink Updates

Well, AFter contacting Opteka dealer 47th street photo... They assume that this unit works well on the 50D. They're gonna replace my flash under warranty as it may be defective. We have to wait until i receive back my new one, & we'll go from there.
