Default Whats the best type of battery to buy for flash

I seem to be running though the ol' Duracells quite quickly and it is getting pretty pricey.

What is my best option for battery for the flash (580EXII)
I know rechargeables are expensive so I look at as more of a investement than a expense.

I trust opinions expressed from DPS members so please let me know so I can go buy a set and start saving some money!

Many people use Sanyo Eneloop low-discharge rechargeable batteries for their Speedlites.

I prefer to use Sanyo 2700mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries for my Canon 580EX II and 430EX Speedlites.

I use Sanyo Eneloops in my CyberSync wireless radio triggers.

I've heard there are now some zinc batteries that are really good rechargeables.

I've been using Energizer 2500mAh in my 580 ex II. They seem to last well in the flash and quick to recharge. I keep 12 in chargers to switch out when needed for any of my 4 flashes. You can get 8pk from amazon for 14.95 which is a good deal.

I have been using the Maha MiMH's for several years in my 580EX and they have been fantastic. The charge lasts a long time and they have been trouble free. I like them so much that I bought enough so I could use them in other items that use AA batteries.

I did a two day shoot, and was using a SB600 with a snoot, on a boom stand for a hair light.

I shot 5.5 hours Saturday, and 5 hours Sunday on the same 2 Duracell's, and its still not showing low battery.

I had standby turned off, so it was on the whole time. It flashed a total of 470 times.

I like Duracell, I keep two 20 packs of them around all the time.
