I'm not so great at giving technical advice as I am just learnign but it sems that the forground is too dark and am not fond of the one brnach stikcing out intot he picture towards the top.
Other than that, I think you used the rule of thirds well and the colors in the sky altho faint are great

Nice image. I have three thoughts. First, composition is subjective. What I mean by that is depending on your vision for the final image, it is either good or ok. More in a second. Second, if you have the capability, shoot sunsets at ISO 100. Not as critical as shooting with film, but color saturation is often better. Third, drop one stop of light, either by lowering ISO or by lowering the shutter speed to 1/30 sec. This will also give better color and will turn the lanscape into a silhouette. It may even require 2 stops to achieve capture what you see. Back to composition. If your foreground is visible in the image, you have a good composition...if it is darkness, then lower your horizon to the 1/3 point to emphasize the sky.

Thank you Windrider and Roy. Unfortunately the Nikon D50 can only shoot at ISO 200 so I will have to try the other suggestions next time. Thanks again!
