Fiery Red Maple

Taken two weeks ago in my yard using Nikon D50, Nikon 18-135mm @ 18mm, F11, ISO 200. Sharpened a bit in Picasa. All comments and suggestions welcome.

wow, the title just doesnt do this justice. One thing I noticed is that now the tree trunks also have a bit of red in them. I think if you could remove that it would help

It is a shame the sky wasn't a more vivid colour.

Is this a crop from a larger image?

Thanks Wulf. This is not a crop, it's just the way it came out of the camera. As for the sky, unfortunately the sun actually came out a little later and there were some blue patches but alot of clouds. When I took the photo it was sort of bright but cloudy.

Did you only upload a relatively small version onto Picasa? I tried magnifying it to see if there was some sharp detail but couldn't find anything big and crisp.

Hmmm...good question Wulf. I will have to check my home computer where I did the original download from the camera as I can't remember.
