Great contrast and tones. What method did you use to convert to B&W?

In terms of composition, I like the lone tree but it looks like it needs a little room to breathe on the left side of the frame. Also, I would include a little more foreground if I was being picky (try to get closer to 2/3 sky and 1/3 land), but overall a very pleasing shot.

Very nice. I'm very interested in your image. I've been grappling with B&W conversion for the past two weeks, trying to determine which approach provides the best control in fine tuning the various tones of grey.

The use of IR explains the high contrast in the clouds and sky. Shouldn't it also make the green leaves appear in white? If you could also show the orginal color image before the IR and B&W conversion, that would be great.

This B&W is one image that would be a very good candidate for enlarging, put in a wooden frame, and place on a wall. Thanks.

Sorry i can't help you anymore with the exact steps in the action i used but if you have a hunt about on alt.central you should be able to find the same one so you can experiment with it.
