Salvaged Image

The original color photo taken earlier this year was shot with a Sony H5 and did not look good at all. I converted it to B&W using photoshop and was pleasantly surprised with the result.

since we are talking about saving the image could you show the original? It might give us an idea of how much was done and how far it came.....
I really like this shot as it is here in B&W a bit flat but a simple adjustment to the levels would fix that....do you have CS3?

@xxpinballxx: The conversion was done months ago, and unfortunately I am unable to find the original, which means I also do not have any EXIF info. If I remember right it was just a straight conversion without additional pocessing. The shot was taken around sunset on an afternoon with dark clouds, resulting in a badly saturated washed out color photo with very low definition. That is why I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of detail that appeared after it was converted to B&W.

And yes, I have PS CS3 Extended, and also Lightroom. I will try to make adjustments, but using only the remaining B&W copy.

well all that said still a great image....love the faint appearance of the skyline behind the hills....would be a great location to visit often for sunsets or sunrises....
