Perhaps you should punch up the color on the chimney - when I first looked at the picture I said to myself what is this person doing naming the picture as I had to search quite a bit before I could find anything that looked like a chimney.

Your sky is really nice on this one, but I think the picture lacks brightness or light. The chimney and foreground look a little dark. If you like HDR, this looks like a good candidate for it.

I sure do like the concept and the parts of the sky that are colorful. I w ould crop ot down a bit and have less sky and more of the chimney. Also boost your colors up a notch and maybe brighten up the chimnet just a hair.

this is the type of shot i strive for. absolutely beautiful. the clouds, the straw grass the chimney. to me i saw immediately what this could look like after running it thu PS. for me this has a big WOW factor, and id beg on my knees to have this file, just so i can look at it for hours on my wall.

hope you dont mind, but i did a little work in PS. this is how i saw it as soon as i seen your picture.

I really like this. The colors and light are great. Compositionally, when I looked at your original image I thought the tree was too dead center. But somehow I'm less bothered by this in both the crop and the edit, even though it's still dead center.

carl yeomans, would you mind saying what you did, for those of us who are total photoshop newbies? I have lots of pictures that I'd like to do something similar with, but have no idea how to go about it.

Wow! I said wow. I cannot think of any other way to improve it but you did. carl yeomans, you can have it on your wall.

P/S:Now that I let you have it, I think you don't mind sharing it in here right how you improved the shot.

i wouldnt say i improved the shot, as i never took it. what i did, is just bring out the underexposed forground by.
making a total of 3 exposures in PS raw converter and merging them, and a little dodge & burn. if you want a more detailed explanation. just pm me. as iam not at all good at explaining things with ease.
