Thanks, that’s a great Idea! I've never used a step up or down ring before; is vignetting a problem???

It depends entirely on the lens. In general, the wider the lens, the more likely that you'll have a problem. I get pretty severe vignetting on my Nikon 18-200 with two filters (similar effect to having a step-down ring) in about the 18-24 range, and nothing after that.

Thanks.....I will be using my 18-200 lens and also attaching my Lee filter system on top of that so will definitely get vignetting if you are. Might have to bite the bullet and ship the 72mm from the USA.

Thanks Again

@K-Lapse - You can try B+W ND1000x filter from Schneider Optics. Costs around $163. Just use a step-down ring. I use mine on a 18-105 VR (67mm) stacked with a Hitech GND 0.9 Soft Edge mounted on a Cokin P holder and an adapter ring. No vignetting so far. Haven't tried it on an 18-200VR though.

Try to check here.

OK! Finally managed to get a 72mm 10 stop ND filter in the UK.

Here’s the link, B+W ND3.0 (10 stops) Speed Graphic online sales

I got the last one but more are on order. It arrived last week but have not had a chance to try it out yet.
