Default Fiery Clouds

I really like the colors in the clouds in this photo.
It is straight from the camera, no PP yet.

Fiery Clouds

Does it work? Or would it look better if the lake at the bottom was cropped out?
I can't tell if the lake mirroring the cloud color helps or distracts.
All C & C welcome.

Yes, again the lake horizon looks "crooked" - but it really is just rounded. Although I think I can straighten this in PP since this is a landscape and it shouldn't affect any other aspect of the photo.

I think that it is fine as is. Nice shot.

rikkersc -- I like it with the water, as I think it gives balance and interest to see the orange color on each side of the silhouetted trees. If you're routinely thinking that the edges of your horizons look rounded, it's probably lens distortion. Most zooms have this to some degree, and the amount varies with the focal length. I don't personally notice it in this photo, but if it bugs you there are tools in PS to fix it. Nice shot, and amazing color!

Thanks for the comments.

Actually, not all my photos have rounded edges, just the ones of this lake (where I spend my summers) since it is a smaller lake with a rounded backside. There is really no way to get a "straight" horizon from it since it is not really big enough to have a flat side.

I usually try to find something else in the shot to determine if I am shooting level, since the horizon on this lake will get you every time.

Love the colour. I personally like it with the lake. But it's not about what we like.

Since ezzabazza counted the votes, I will leave the lake alone.

And for dfiddy, I agree its not always about what others like...but it certainly helps.
